30 Knot Gourmet is presenting a Wine Makers Dinner with Sabrine Rodems of Scratch Wines.
New World meets Old World as we pair Sabrine's astounding boutique Central Coast single vineyard wines with a menu anchored on the French classic, Boeuf Bourguignon. "One of the most delicious beef dishes concocted by man!" according to Julia Child.
Sabrine will be there to tell us about each of the wines.
(NB Wine-pairing is included in the price. As this is a wine-maker dinner, we are not allowing BYOB)

Wine Pairing 1: 2017 Scratch Riesling
Beverage
These Riesling grapes are sourced from the rocky river bed of the Arroyo Seco. The rocky soil allows for great drainage and minerality that is pervasive in this wine. This Riesling is just dry with bright minerality, grapefruit and lemon with a hint of flowers.
(RRP $24.00 184 cases made)
Wine Pairing 2: 2015 Scratch Cabernet Sauvignon
Beverage
"There's a lot of snappy energy to this bottling, with fresh garden herbs, blackberries, shaved licorice and a dark chocolate touch on the nose, with a lingering, exotic Indian-like spice throughout. Wild sagebrush and pine oil show on the sip, giving depth to the tangy purple fruit. Squeaky tannins rise toward the finish."
(RRP $65.00; 135 cases made)
Wine Pairing 3: 2014 Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
Beverage
"Rhubarb, turned earth and iron aromas power the nose on this bottling by Sabrine Rodems, who also makes Wrath wines. The iron character extends to the palate, picking up flint and gunmetal notes along with raspberry fruit and more fresh dirt flavors."
(RRP $49.00; 238 cases made)
Wine Pairing 4: 2014 Grenach Ventana Vineyards
Beverage
Our new release of Grenache is big and bold. Compote of plum, black cherry and black berries with spice and earth. This wine fills your mouth with juiciness and flavor that will stand up to bold food and friends. Stop, sit down, and have a glass!
(RRP $42.00; 137 cases made)
2017 Blanc de Blanc

"Our new baby, Sparkling Blanc de Blanc made from Chardonnay off of San Saba Vineyards, which is the home vineyard of Wrath Wines. High acid Clone 17 Chardonnay in an Extra Brut style. Crisp citrus, flowers and a hint of guava with a clean finish and amazing bubbles!"
(RRP $45.00; 245 cases made)
