Alex Augustine has been leading the wine and beverage program at Formento's for 2 years. Augustine has always been in the industry, working at a young age out of his family's restaurant in New Jersey, where his love of wine began. Chicago has been the launching pad for his career; he first worked at Scofflaw and honed in his cocktail and spirits knowledge, followed by Kai Zan, a Michelin-recommended restaurant, where he learned about pairing unique, quality ingredients with wine for their beverage program. Following his passion for wine, he is now at Formento's, leading the curation and maintenance of the wine list - known for its predominantly Italian labels and designated 'Best Medium Sized Wine List in the World' by World of Fine Wine in 2016 and 2017.
