I have been cooking in Portland for the last 15 years, starting as a rookie brunch cook at Veritable Quandary back in the early aughts.  After I finished college (Reed, BFA fine art) I worked with Cathy Whims at Nostrana, then Jack Yoss at the award-winning Ten-01 in the Pearl.  I then moved over to Ten-01's sister restaurant, Tabla, on the east side, where I quickly was named Head Chef and cooked a crowd-pleasing 3 course Italian menu for customers for over 4 years. During this time I was selected as one of the Portland chefs featured by Star Chefs out of NYC.

The Chefstable Restaurant Group then hired me to try to revive the doomed Corezon restaurant in the Indigo Building downtown.  After we decided to close Corezon, I decided it was the perfect time to pursue the creation of my own restaurant.  After 14 pop-up dinners, we got an investor to help us build Ración, a unique, modern Spanish dining room and bar, where we created 5-course menus using locally sourced and foraged ingredients as our building blocks for dishes that pushed the boundaries for most Portland diners.  Tho we were highly acclaimed, and enjoyed some great press, we decided to close the restaurant after 2.5 years, as rent prices became impossible to hurdle.  I have since helped open the Bible Club, a 1920's inspired speak easy bar in Westmorland, and currently run the event operations and bookings for Function PDX, a bar/event gathering space on NW 23rd
