Lamb Köfte Sliders

Stella Star Ingredient: Tahini Drizzle


  • For the burgers:
  • 16 ounces ground lamb
  • 1 small onion, coarsely grated
  • 2 garlic cloves finely chopped or grated
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 1 small bunch cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
  • Tahini Drizzle: *Stella Star Ingredient
  • ½ cup tahini
  • ¼ cup warm water
  • Juice of ½ a lemon
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled and grated on a microplane
  • Pinch of salt
  • To serve:
  • Tahini sauce
  • 4 small/mini pita bread
  • 2 tomatoes, halved and sliced
  • 1 red onion, sliced (optional)
  • Sliced feta
  • Fresh dill


  1. Place the lamb into a large bowl along with the onion, garlic, garam masala, cilantro and chilli flakes and a good pinch of salt. Mix well with your hands. Pat the mix into small burgers.
  2. To make the tahini sauce: combine the tahini, warm water, lemon, garlic, and salt in a bowl and whisk together until smooth.
  3. To cook, heat grill to its highest setting and lay the burgers in a single layer on a baking tray (you may need to do this in batches, depending on how big your tray is).
  4. Grill on the highest shelf for 5-6 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Pile burgers onto a platter and serve with all the accompaniments, so everyone can construct their own sandwich. Finish with the tahini drizzle.
