Silvia Barban was born and raised in Italy. She studied in the E. Maggia Stresa Culinary School and followed that up by working in one of the most important restaurants in Italy with Gualtiero Marchesi. Next she worked in a 2 Michelin starred restaurant with Chef Giancarlo Perbellini, her chef and mentor. Silvia moved to NYC in 2012 for a three month consulting job for Rana Pastificio in the meatpacking district and decided not to leave. She then became the Executive Chef at Aita in Brooklyn. Silvia was a Top Chef contestant on season 14 just before starting her newest project, Larina Pastificio e Vino as Executive Chef and partner.
