I have loved cooking all my life but didn't quite realize it until recent. My career path took me into the corporate world and while it was very lucrative, I felt that something was missing. Regardless, I continued on that path until one day, I was laid off in March of 2017. At 39, I decided it was time to look for something different. I tinkered with the thought of going to culinary school but the one nearby wasn't accepting anymore student enrollments. That didn't deter me. Instead, I kept looking and found a recreational cooking school. On a whim, I decided to send out an email to the owner to see if they were hiring. It turned out they were! This would be my first foray into the culinary world. Since then, I haven't looked back. I needed more.
