When it comes to food, Medan, the Capital of North Sumatra province in Indonesia is the place to be. Like most Indonesian food, you’re guaranteed to find rich savory flavors on your plate. The richness of coconut milk in Medanese food lends itself a unique taste like no other. Experience lontong (compressed rice cake) the way it is served in Medan, accompanied by popular Indonesian dishes to create a curry party for your palate.

Medan-style Beef Rendang. Boneless chuck braised with galangal and Siska's housemade red curry sauce and coconut milk, then after all the liquid nearly evaporated, the remaining sauce is caramelized by frying it in the oil that the meat released during braising.
