For tonight, I’m going to showcase my favorite Indonesian dishes. These recipes and flavors were passed down from my grandmother – with my personal flare. My hope is after this dinner you will have some insight into Indonesia's diverse culinary culture and become more familiar with flavors that represent my everyday cooking. Served Family Style!

Lontong

Compressed rice cake boiled in banana leaves.
Indonesian Chicken Opor
Entree
Indonesian chicken "white" curry. Curry paste made out of lemongrass, kukui nut (candle nut), corriander, and shallots.
Beef Rendang
Entree
Sumatra style Beef Rendang. Chuck braised with Siska's homemade curry sauce and coconut milk, then after nearly all the liquid has evaporated, the remaining sauce is caramelized by frying it in the oil that the meat released during braising.
Shrimp and Egg Sambal
Entree
Deep fried egg and shrimps in traditional Indonesian sambal chilies.
Tempeh & Green Beans Tauco
Entree
Tempeh and long beans braised in thick sweet soy sauce.
Pandan Crepe
Dessert
Dairy free. Crepe with shredded coconut and palm sugar filling.
