Gabriela Cámara is the chef/owner of of Contramar in Mexico City and Cala in San Francisco. She opened her first restaurant, Contramar, eighteen years ago while studying art history in college in Mexico City. She never meant to be a chef or a tycoon; she simply wanted to open a place where she and her friends could eat fresh seafood. Today, Contramar is a Mexico City institution and Cala is a popular restaurant in San Francisco.
