Marie's goal is to empower you in the kitchen. Whether you are looking to learn how to incorporate more leafy greens in your diet or master the art of a flaky galette crust, you're in the right place. The food that we make in class will be flavorful and nourishing using seasonal produce and a range of global flavors.
Marie graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Dietetics. An avid traveler, she has explored her love of food while on the road. Her travels have taken her to study cheese-making in Tasmania, raw food in Western Australia, tea and fermented foods in the mountains of Korea and Ayurvedic cuisine and herbology in Kerala. Marie moved back to the USA to attend a holistic culinary arts school in Berkeley, where she also worked and taught for several years. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and works as an educator, recipe developer, private chef and is a partner at Café Umami in Oakland.
