From the time I was a very young child, I had a deep love of food—specifically the flavors of Indian Fiji. My family, who were from the Fiji Islands, were all excellent cooks and kept me nearby in the kitchen from a very young age. By the time I could hold a spoon, I was helping cook for family events.
One day, on a whim, a friend asked me to cater a birthday party. I obliged, and the food I cooked—all traditional Fijian-Indian dishes—was a huge hit. Soon, more friends (and friends of friends) began asking me to cater their affairs, and it became clear to me that I had found my true calling: cooking. I left my job in corporate sales, and set about founding a catering company.
