Eat your way through San Francisco's history, beginning with a North Beach seafood feast. Local blogger Jessica M. (threadandbones.com) pairs with the city's most creative chefs to take you ingredient by ingredient through the stories, legends, and characters that have shaped SF. This is the first event in our neighborhood series. Come hungry and leave educated.

Eucalyptus + Gin Cocktail

A delicately balanced eucalyptus cocktail in honor of the Australian gold miners who settled early on in North Beach.
Oyster Bar with a Filipino Twist
Appetizer
Local, sustainably harvested oysters with homemade garnishes. The classics: mignonettes, fresh horseradish, homemade cocktail sauce, lemon, and cholula. To embrace Filipino ingredients, a frozen Filipino Bagoong ponzu topper will also be made.
Emperor Norton's Farmer's Market Salad

A salad fit for an emperor. Sourcing the freshest seasonal greens from the markets our chef frequents. This salad will consist of hearts of romaine, artichoke hearts, and avocado dressed in a parmesan vinaigrette.
Fresh Baked Bread

Fresh bread for dipping and of course -- eating.
Fresh Ravioli with Puttanesca
Entree
Freshly prepared ravioli with puttanesca sauce as an homage to the "saucier" moments in North Beach's history. You'll have to attend to find out :)
Steamed Local Crab
Entree
Half of a locally caught crabbed steamed with local butter and homemade cocktail sauce.
Homemade Coffee Ice Cream Sandwiches
Dessert
An ice cream sandwich made in-house with coffee ice cream to represent the North Beach cafe that brought the first espresso maker to America.
