I grew up in the kitchen, helping my mother and grandmother with anything they would let me help with. I loved picking rocks out of a bag of pinto beans and rinsing raw chicken before my mom would cook with it. I loved the squishy feeling of the chicken between my fingers. Little did I know, I wasn't actually cooking, but I was just happy to be standing on a stool, doing this mundane unwanted tasks. As my love for cooking grew, I realized that I wanted to make a career out of it. In college, I began working at an Italian restaurant that made all of their own salumi's and pastas from scratch. I learned so much there, but was determined to go to culinary school. I attended The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY where I was given a crash course in the basics. Since graduating, I have worked in restaurants, hotels, for Whole Foods and as a private chef. My love now is for developing flavors, making fresh ingredients shine, and bringing people together around the table.
