Semolina Flatbread
Bread doesn’t need to be intimidating. Once you learn the tips and tricks behind this approachable recipe, you’ll feel comfortable taking the next steps in the world in bread baking.
This recipe is incredibly versatile, with the option to sub in and out flavors and ingredients to suit any special occasion or mid-week lunch.
These flatbreads are great because they can be cooked in a pan, on the stove, and with no special tools, or ovens required.
Its about the "Whys" not the "Hows"
Understanding the why's and how's of a recipe are far more important than a list of amounts and ingredients. A recipe is merely a road map, passed from one cook to the next. What makes a recipe special is the personal touch that each cook imprints on it to make it their own. Having the knowledge of "why" you do something, instead of just reading a recipe card will give you the confidence and skills to carve your own path in the kitchen.
At the end of the lesson, you will feel confident enough to take this recipe and put your own touches on it, truly making it your own.
Saffron Summer Squash Sauce & Burrata Butter
Were topping the flatbreads with a spread of summer squash and a sweet & savory burrata butter.
If you hadn’t already guessed, summer is Chef Joe’s favorite season - and residing in California, rightfully so. Yellow zucchini are abundant this time of year and there is no better way to celebrate the vegetable than with this recipe.
Perfect as a sauce for flatbread, an afternoon dip, or turned into a hot or cold soup - this will be a new summer-time favorite for everyone.
Whipped Sweet Cheese & Cocoa Jam
One memory from childhood that can never be replaced is the crunch of biting into a fried cannoli shell filled with whipped cream cheese and mascarpone.
Chef Joe created this recipe, drawing from that moment by using the same flatbread dough, frying it, and transforming it into a sweet treat.
