Whisk(e)y 101 and Whisk(e)y Cocktails

For this class we'll dive deep into the most popular styles of whisk(e)y from around the world, learn some history, how they're made, why I'm spelling it like this, where the flavors come from, and how to taste like the pros. We'll follow the deep dive with a class on making 3 classic cocktails featuring our favorite spirit. Have your own bourbon, rye, Scotch, Irish, Canadian, Japanese, or any other whiskies on hand. The more different styles you have, the more you'll learn! For the cocktails, you'll need some simple syrup, bitters, sweet vermouth, and fresh lemons, as well as a stirring glass and either a cocktail shaker or a mason jar with a lid.
