I’m now getting back to my original mission — to create a pop-up dinner for every region of Italy — and I have 16 left of my list, so I hope you’re hungry! In April, we’ll travel to Friuli-Venezia Giulia, which is Italy’s north-easternmost region, bordering Austria to the north and Slovenia to the east, and facing the Adriatic Sea to the south, spanning a wide variety of climates and landscapes. As one of the most industrious and profitable areas of Italy, its cuisine could be considered luxurious, with flavors and ingredients from Slovenia and Austria like wild game, butter, cow cheese, cinnamon, root vegetables, and stone fruit.
