Gougeres filled with Scallion Goat Cheese, paired with Traverse Chenin Blanc
We’ll start by learning the simple yet impressive method of making and baking “choux” dough for the Gougeres. Gougere is basically the french word for cheese puff! We’ll show you how to make one type of filling, but these little puffs are great on their own, or with pretty much any filling you can think up, savory or sweet!
Mushroom and Gruyere Tartlet, paired with Traverse Cabernet Franc
Who doesn’t love puff pastry? We’ll top our tartlet with savory mushrooms and yep, more cheese! We’ll also teach you a quick and delicious vinaigrette to dress a zippy side salad that will complete this plated appetizer. Note: Both of these recipes are very adaptable, so if you’re not a cheese-eater, you can absolutely just leave it out with no issue!
