I'm very excited to be collaborating with my friend Yuri to create a family style dinner referencing excellent street food! Yuri makes some fantastic spring rolls with lightly pickled vegetables and lots of herbs, that we'll pair with a nice spicy peanut sauce. He also grew up near Japantown in SF, and has a love for making amazing sushi! I'll be making some fantastic Peking-style steamed tofu buns, some grilled Middle-Eastern kofta skewers, and a decadent cheesecake.

Peking-Style Tofu Buns

We'll use yuba, tofu, and our Peking-style 5 spice glaze to make slices of decadence reminiscent of 'Peking duck.' We'll put this inside some wonderfully fluffy steamed buns, with some cucumber, scallion, fermented chile, cilantro, and hoisin sauce. We made these for vegan mania, and are happy to share them again!
Yuri's Spring Rolls with Spicy Peanut Sauce

We'll fill our spring rolls with local lettuces, slightly pickled carrot and daikon, as well as plenty of fresh herbs. A salad you can carry! We'll serve it with an umami rich, slightly spicy Thai-style peanut sauce.
Yuri's Sushi!

Throughout the night, Yuri will be rolling these Maki: 1) Crispy, Spicy Eggplant with Avocado, Cucumber, and Unagi Sauce. 2) Kobocha Squash, Daikon, Daikon Sprout, and Kecap Manis Rolls with Kelp Caviar. 3) Grilled 'Waygu' Mushroom, Seared Burdock, Scallion, and Horseradish Aioli.
Middle-Eastern Style Kofta Skewers

These 'meatballs' are mushroom based, and meaty and delicious, served on skewers with grilled grapes, and topped off with a nice cilantro-herb sauce.
Caramel Cashew Cheesecake
We'll make a nice caramel cashew cheesecake to top off your streetfood dinner with a sweet treat!
