For 10 days the City of Chicago is closing down Broadway Avenue, as well as Briar Place (where we are!) so that restaurants can occupy the streets with open air dining! For our first dinner, we're focusing on seasonal produce as well as Chicagos very own FourStar Mushroom to craft a delicious 5-course menu for you. There will be Preserved Lemon Herbed Almond Chevre with our Nut and Seed Bread, Grilled Asparagus with Saffron Hollandaise and Smoked Sesame Crackers, a delectable Roasted and then chilled Strawberry Gazpacho with Crema, Basil, and Sprouted Seeds, a Campanelle Pasta with Ramp Pesto, Blistered Cherry Tomatoes, Haricot Vert, and grilled Lions Mane Mushrooms, and we'll finish with our layered Cherry-Sesame Cheesecake. Expect us to serve you a few additional surprises, and in the instance of bad weather, the meal will be available for free pickup or delivery with 4 of our croissants to sweeten the deal. Herbed Preserved Lemon Almond Chevre with Fruit and our Nut and Seed Bread
Appetizer
A lovely cheese plate to start off your meal! A few months ago we started a batch of preserved lemons, and adding it to our almond ricotta gives it a complex flavor similar to chevre.
Asparagus, Hollandaise, Sesame Cracker, Citrus
Small Plate
We'll blanch the best asparagus we can find, serve it with our rich vegan hollandaise, dehydrated black umami sesame crackers, and diced citrus segments.
Roasted Strawberry and Cucumber Gazpacho
Small Plate
Macerated and slightly roasted strawberries, grilled cucumber, and fermented thai chile gazpacho. Served with fried ginger, basil, and basil seeds.
Ramp Pesto Campanelle with Seared Lions Mane Mushroom, Tomato, Almond Parmesan
Entree
Some time ago we (sustainably) foraged quite a few ramps, preserved them, and will use them to make a delicious pesto for Campanelle pasta. Chicagos very own FourStar Mushroom is providing Lions Mane Mushrooms for us to grill for this dish, and we'll serve it with blistered cherry tomatoes, haricot vert, rich green olive oil, and top it with our Almond Parmesan.

We recently came up with this dessert, and now it is one of our favorites. We use fresh cherries to make a concentrated layering between cashew-sesame cheesecake for an elegant seasonal dessert
