Burma Superstar is a cult-worthy restaurant that I used to live near in San Francisco, and everyday people would wait nearly 2 hours to get their signature Samusa Soup. I was reminded of Burma Superstar because Chef Valerie who works with up spent time in Burma, and obsessed over the food! Burmese food often combines spices and legumes that are familiar to Indian cooking, with many ingredients and techniques people associate with Southeast Asian cuisine. While these flavors are often strong, we use them with enough subtlety so that the flavor of the vegetables is in the forefront, making it refreshing to eat.
