A born Detroiter, Kiki Louya has always been interested in the ways food shapes community. Now, as a managing partner of Nest Egg Detroit LLC – a restaurant group that oversees operations at Folk, The Farmer’s Hand, and soon-to-be Mink – she is an advocate for triple bottom line business practices in her own food community and beyond. Kiki is a graduate of The University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) and Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts (Chicago). Prior to venturing out on her own, Kiki’s journey in hospitality began over 20 years ago, and she has worked in almost every front and back of the house position ever since. Most notably, she trained in some of the world’s most famed kitchens, including her personal favorite, avec, a Chicago mainstay owned by multiple James Beard award-winner Paul Kahan. Kiki has been featured in Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, Martha Stewart Living, and the Wall Street Journal. She currently lives in Detroit with her husband and two rescue dogs.
