After a pivotal visit to the riverside vineyards of Germany, Krista shifted from the world of fine art to wine, moving to Northern California in the early 2000’s to study wine and hospitality. She passed the Court of Master Sommeliers certified level exams in 2006, and went on to work as a wine buyer and sommelier in the Bay Area. After moving to Atlanta in 2008, Krista worked positions in retail management, wine consulting, and wine & spirits wholesale before partnering with restauranteur and top mixologist Jerry Slater at his highly renowned whiskey and cocktail bar H. Harper Station. Together they went on to found Flying Pig Hospitality, a restaurant and beverage consulting company. Krista is currently hard at work on the wine list for their newest project, The Expat, a restaurant with multiple beverage programs, in Athens, GA.
