The legacy of Istanbul, once Constantinople, the capital of four empires, is greater than meets the eye. It's the Bosphorus, Black Sea, the Aegean, and the Mediterranean; Mesopotamia, Balkans, Anatolia, Caucasus, North Africa, and Persia. It's the palace and the countryside, the business capital and the cultural capital. It's a little Turkish, a little Greek, Armenian, Jewish, Arabic and Persian.
It's Istanbul Modern. We tell the story.
Menu detail
Babka and our olive oil
Small Plate
Babka is often associated with chocolate, it's a bread rolled onto itself with fillings. We make a savory version with Moroccan olives and a Turkish paste of sun-dried tomatoes. We serve it with olive oil we produce in conjunction with our partners at Skipstone Ranch in Alexander Valley.
Olives and fermented pepper emulsion
Small Plate
We serve our marinated olives with candied walnuts and roasted garlic
Seasonal marmalade and feta mousse
Small Plate
Briny feta and sweet unctuous marmalades make an incredible combination.
(1) Seasonal meze to be driven by the farmers' market
Small Plate
We are so excited to keep two mezes open to inspiration by the farmers market. We now have a very wide repertoire with incredible dishes such as our sorrel and pistachio tabouleh, roasted leaks with saffron and hazelnut dressing. We're incredibly excited to explore new flavors and techniques with you for our brunch series as well.

Jilbir, the original benedict*
Entree
This is our signature egg dish. Jilbir is fundamentally a combination of a poached egg served with yogurt. The yogurt is seasoned with garlic and olive oil. We serve the jilbir with different accompaniments such as a chickpea stew, a ratatouille, or a rich tomato sauce with rustic garlic croutons.
*Jilbir, the original benedict, needs citation but it doesn't need much else. It's delicious!
Kaymak and honey
Dessert
This is one of our favorite things to serve. It's a labor of love.
Turkish clotted cream (kaymak), honey, and sea salt. A decadent finish to a great meal.
Sour cherry ice cream sandwich
Dessert
In Istanbul, we add a little bit of merengue to our ice cream sandwiches to add a unique texture to the experience. Visne or sour cherry is a much cherished tart flavor of a sorbet that we pair with an Urfa pepper chocolate sauce. This pepper is mildly spicy and has a smoky deep flavor.
Add-ons
Melengic (wild pistachio), served with dessert
$5.00
Sahlep (orchid root), served with dessert
