BIO
My name is Lizzy Cooper and I own AvocaToast by Lizzy. I make a variety of delicious and beautifully crafted gourmet avocado toasts, along with other Californian inspired dishes. I learned to cook as a little girl by watching my grandmother in the kitchen so effortlessly craft her famous Creole gumbo, scalloped potatoes and perfect lemon merengue pies. I now draw inspiration for my food from dishes at my favorite restaurants as well as from my travels around the world.
For many years prior to starting my business I worked as a social worker with some of LA's most vulnerable populations. My work was incredibly fulfilling, but when AvocaToast started to expand I realized I needed to dedicate myself full time to its growth. I didn't want to abandon my social worker roots and passion for social justice, however, so I started AvocaToast with the intention of it becoming a socially conscious business by providing jobs to formerly incarcerated women.
There is nothing I enjoy more than cooking for and feeding others, and doing it with so much love. I am excited to feed the Feastly community doing just that.
