Born and raised in the Bay Area and Northern California, Chef Louis Maldonado has spent his career working in restaurants in San Francisco, Sonoma County, and Yountville. A graduate of California Culinary Academy, he began his career at One Market Restaurant and moved onto Cortez Restaurant. Maldonado was serving as executive chef when Cortez was awarded a Michelin Star. From there, Maldonado moved on to the French Laundry under Corey Lee. Louis relocated back to San Francisco in 2008 to Cafe Majestic where he received Rising Star chef from the San Francisco Chronicle.

In 2009 he became the chef de cuisine at Aziza working hand-in-hand with Chef Mourad Lahlou. During his time at Aziza, Maldonado Starchefs awarded Maldonado the title of Rising Star. In 2013, Louis moved to Healdsburg to become executive chef at Spoonbar and Pizzando. Louis was a contestant and finalist on Season 11 Top Chef New Orleans while running both restaurants in Healdsburg. Recently, Louis was the Culinary Director at Mugnaini Imports focusing on wood fired oven cooking techniques and classes.
