I am hosting a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner with all the fixin's. Because my events are advertised on multiple platforms, I already have some guests confirmed: a Greek-American man from Astoria, Queens; two men from Texas who now live in NYC (Midtown and the East Village); another man who move to NYC three months ago from San Francisco, and currently lives in Hells Kitchen. He enjoys travel, museums/history and stand-up comedy; a woman from Norway who now lives in the Bronx, and a husband and wife from the Netherlands. (For my Dutch guests, it will be their first time experiencing a real Thanksgiving dinner, and in someone's home! The husband arranged for this dinner to surprise his wife! ;-)
This will be an intimate event with no more than 9 people in total. Seating will be 'open' and on chairs and couches (no formal dining table) and food will be offered buffet style.

Note that I did attempt to make my first ever 'test turkey' a few weeks ago, and while it came out good, I realized that my cooking a 12-pound turkey on my own is extremely difficult (a 12-pound turkey is hard to manage due to its size and unwieldiness). So I will be preparing turkey 'parts' instead (breast, and hopefully some legs and wings).
I will of course have homemade gravy to go with the turkey...

Once the potatoes have been cooked, they are whipped with sour cream, then baked in the oven in a casserole dish, and topped with buttery bread crumbs!
