New Year's Day in India is celebrated in various regions at various times of the year. In some regions, New year marks the beginning of Spring and in other regions, it marks the beginning of harvest time. Come join us as we welcome Yugadi (which means beginning of a new age)- the New year of Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka; Puthaandu- the New Year of Tamil Nadu; and Vishu- the New Year of Kerala, with a 4 course meal. Semige, Shavige, Noolputtu and Idiyappam are different names given to string hoppers, a delicacy relished across the Indian states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, and also in Malaysia and Sri Lanka. The right blend of spices and vegetables added to this rice noodles brings an explosion of flavors to this exotic dish. Dish is gluten free and nuts free.
Palappam & Vegetable Stew

These white lacy bowl shaped pancakes are delicacies from the coastal region of Kerala. It is made with fermented batter of rice and coconut milk. This neutral tasting pancake perfectly pairs with vegetable stew which is curry made with vegetables cooked in coconut milk and infused with fresh spices. This exotic flavors are sure to take a magic carpet ride in your tummies. If you are spicy food lover, we will add an optional Mulaka chammanthi (red chilly and shallot chutney) to take care of your cravings. Gluten Free.
Sweet Pongal & Ugadi Pachadi
Dessert
Sweet Pongal is a dessert cooked with rice, moong dal, jaggery and cardamom and garnished with cashew nuts and raisins. A tradition followed during this New Year time is to complete your meal with Ugadi Pachadi, a sauce that is prepared incorporating all six tastes- sweet, salty, bitter, tangy, spicy and sour- signifying all facets of life.
