Overview
First Course
Almost 40 years ago, a young couple from El Cerrito, CA, just north of Berkeley, ditched their jobs, and bought a Volkswagen bus along with 2.5 acres in Sebastopol. The land went on to grow tenfold and become one of the most important apple orchards in the state. As grapes have taken over Sonoma’s farmland, Devoto is one of the last remaining apple orchards.
Program
First Course
Meet at Nopa at 9am and hop aboard the solar-powered, TeacherBus. We’ll have apple fritters from Nopa Pastry Chef, Anna Lee and Blue Bottle Coffee waiting for you. We’ll depart at 9:15 sharp, arriving at Devoto late morning. Jolie will lead us around the orchards and vineyards teaching us about the history of the farm and their growing methods. We’ll also taste some of Jolie’s increasingly famous cider. The trip concludes with an onsite lunch prepared by Nopa Chef Laurence Jossel. We’ll depart at 2:30pm, arriving back at Nopa around 4pm.
