Come and join us for a very fun gathering where we will cook up several amazing dishes and then sit down and share them, together. Learn stir frying techniques, braising, deep frying, and more in this hands on class celebrating some dishes from Sichuan and Cantonese Chinese traditions

Ma Po Tofu
A personal favorite! Tofu braised in a spicy sauce. Pass the rice!
Asparagus with black bean sauce
Small Plate
A seasonal delight, asparagus is blanched and then stir fried with fermented black beans, ginger, garlic and shaoshing.
Flat tofu "noodles" with sesame sauce
Flat tofu is a rarity but is made locally in Berkeley by Tofu Yu, and I am friends with the owner. We will cut this into noodle shapes and toss it with a gingery sesame sauce
Hot and Sour Soup
Small Plate
a delightful winter and spring soup, tangy, spicy and loaded with different textures
Singapore Rice Noodles
A wonderful dish with thin rice noodles (made fresh in Oakland Chinatown!) stir fried with spices, carrots, mushrooms and greens
Stir fried Garlicky Greens
Small Plate
A must have for any Chinese feast is a large plate of seasonal greens stir fried with a lot of garlic and rice wine
