In this hands on cooking class, we will learn how to make tempeh from a variety of beans. Each attendee will be taking home inoculated packets of beans to incubte and ferment at home. In addition to making tempeh, we will make a couple of dishes with tempeh for a wonderful lunch after the class.

Appetizer
We will learn about the history of tempeh and how to make it. From a variety of beans (fava, pigeon pea black eyed pea and chickpea) we will learn to produce tempeh by taking dried beans, soaking them, cooking them, drying them, incoluating them and fermenting them.
Tamarind tempeh
Entree
We will deep fry tempeh till crisp and then stir fry it in a tangy, spicy tamarind sauce
Roasted marinated tempeh
Small Plate
We will marinade tempeh with gochujang and maple syrup and roast it up
