A hands on cooking class in a very fun, friendly kitchen. You will be preparing the dishes with a handful of others under my supervision, using the finest ingredients, available. Come explore some flavors from Thailand as we pound out pastes in the mortar and pestle, steam, blanch, stir fry, deep fry and use various other techniques to develop a handful of wonderful dishes. Then we will all sit down and enjoy the products of our labors.

Pineapple Fried Rice

Tom Yam (Hot and Sour Vegetable Soup)
A very popular soup that is a wonderful way to start any Thai meal! Tart and spicy coconut broth filled with a variety of mushrooms and tofu. This dish has very complex flavors, yet is simple and fast to produce

Rice Noodles with Black Bean Sauce
Fresh Rice Noodles will be stir fried with Gai Lan (chinese broccoli) and a fragrant, fermented black bean sauce
Red Curry Paste

Making pastes in a mortar and pestle is one of the joys of making Thai food! The aromas one develops while preparing these pastes is truly delightful! The pastes are then the building blocks of many dishes. Once you have pastes, making curries and other dishes is very fast and easy.
