For the month of September, we are featuring the...Province of BICOL, known for their food that is cooked in “gata” or coconut milk. The province is blessed with a lot of coconut trees and one would notice that almost all their dishes are cooked in coconut milk. The word "kamayan" derives from the word "kamay," meaning “hand.” It is a celebration with the whole family — or even the whole village — getting together to share a meal using their hands.
