A cocktail class with a focus on nuts? Count me in!
Orgeat is a syrup made with nuts; Think marzipan (almond paste) made into a syrup. A big thank you to Trader Vic (Victor Bergeron) for this delicious syrup inspired by his French Grandmother’s baking and used in his famous cocktail, the Mai Tai.
Before class begins, I ask that you prepare an easy to follow nut milk recipe (soak nuts in water for 3+ hours, blend, strain). In class, we will flavor and sweeten the nut milk with fresh produce and sugar. Next, we will use the flavored orgeat syrups to make two cocktails. In addition to typical bar tools (or common kitchen tool substitutions) this class requires a blender, saucepan, and heat source.
