Basil Ice Cream

This homemade Basil Ice cream is as delicious as easy to make.

Ingredients

Basil Ice Cream

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1.5 ounces (3 tablespoon) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 1.4 cups heavy cream
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 1 large handful of fresh basil leaves, roughly torn into small pieces

For the Honey Pine Nut Pralines

  • 1 cup pine nuts
  • 2 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt

Steps

  1. Mix 2 tablespoons of the milk with the cornstarch in a small bowl to make a smooth slurry.
  2. Whisk the cream cheese and salt in a medium bowl until smooth.
