Bleeding Cake
White chocolate ganache "blood" drips down the sides of this spooky cake filled with a bloody raspberry surprise!
Ingredients
Cake Batter
- 1 ½ cups unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3 cups sugar
- 9 eggs, room temperature
- 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 ¾ cups sour cream
Buttercream
- 4 cups unsalted butter, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 10 cups confectioner’s sugar
Blood (inside the cake)
- 1 cup raspberry jam
- 3 tbsp pomegranate juice
Knives
- ½ cup white candy melts, melted
- black food colouring
- ¼ cup dark chocolate chips, melted
Bloody Drip
- 5 oz white chocolate, melted
- 2 oz heavy cream
- red food colouring
Steps
- Bake the cake: Beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs one a time, mixing with each addition.
