Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Crumb Cake

Ingredients
Milk Cake:
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
For the chocolate chip frosting:
- 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup butter, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
Chocolate chip cookie crumb:
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips, for topping
Chocolate cake:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup butter, softened at room temperature
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup sour cream, room temperature
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and line a 9-inch cake pan with baking spray and parchment paper.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter and add milk and vanilla. Bring to a near boil and then reduce to a simmer.
