Giant Pizza Slice

Inspired by Toronto's jumbo slice pizzas, Vijaya tries to make the biggest slice she can!


Giant Pizza Slice

  • 2 1/4 cups lukewarm water
  • 4 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 2 teaspoons white sugar
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons salt


  • 1 1/2 cups strained tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan


  • Grated mozzarella cheese
  • Your favorite pizza toppings (pepperoni, mushrooms, bacon, peppers, etc.)


  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, add water, yeast and white sugar. Attach dough hook, and add olive oil, flour and salt. Mix until the dough just begins to come away from the sides of the bowl, approximately 5 minutes.
  2. Grease a bowl with a little bit of olive oil and place dough in it. Cover with a cloth, and allow to rest for 1 hour, or until doubled in volume.
