Irish Soda Bread

What better way to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day than with leprechaun-sized soda bread!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon buttermilk
  • 1/4 teaspoon currants

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a small bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and half the sugar. Stir in butter, buttermilk and currants. Form into a round loaf on a baking sheet. Sprinkle the loaf with the remaining sugar and bake for 10 minutes.
