Irish Soda Bread
What better way to celebrate Saint Patrick's Day than with leprechaun-sized soda bread!
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon buttermilk
- 1/4 teaspoon currants
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- In a small bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and half the sugar. Stir in butter, buttermilk and currants. Form into a round loaf on a baking sheet. Sprinkle the loaf with the remaining sugar and bake for 10 minutes.
