Ingredients: 1 tablespoon Dry Yeast; 1 1/2 Cup Raisins; 1 1/2 Cup Sugar; 5 Slices Dark Rye Bread, Toasted

KVASS

Bring 1 1/4 gallons of water to a boil. Turn off heat, and add your bread and raisins. Let the mixture steep for 8 hours.

After steeping, remove your bread and add sugar and yeast. Let this mixture sit for another 6-8 hours while fermentation takes place.

Strain the fermented mixture, and pour into bottles. Let the bottles cool in the fridge for 2-3 hours, then serve and enjoy!

Though not as trendy as Kombucha, this traditional Russian fermented beverage has been served throughout Eastern Europe since the Middle ages.
