Orange Babka
Orange you glad we made this babka today?
Ingredients
Marmalade
- 3 U Oranges
- ¼ CUP Granulated white sugar
- 2 CUPS Water
- ¼ CUP Lemon juice
- 1 TBSP Ground cardamom
Babka
- ½ CUP Whole milk, warmed
- 1 TBSP Dry yeast
- ¼ CUP Granulated white sugar
- 2 ¼ CUPS All purpose flour, plus more for dusting
- ½ TSP Salt
- 3 U 3 eggs (1 for the egg wash)
- 1 TBSP Water
- 1 TSP Vanilla extract
- 1 TBSP Orange zest
- ½ TSP Ground cardamom
- 2 OZ Butter, cubed and softened
- ½ CUP Pistachios, chopped
- ½ CUP Honey
Steps
- Use a sharp knife to slice away both ends of the oranges, then remove all the peel from top to bottom.
- Cut the pulp of the oranges into cubes and the peel in julienne strips.
