Orange Babka

Orange you glad we made this babka today?

Ingredients

Marmalade

  • 3 U Oranges
  • ¼ CUP Granulated white sugar
  • 2 CUPS Water
  • ¼ CUP Lemon juice
  • 1 TBSP Ground cardamom

Babka

  • ½ CUP Whole milk, warmed
  • 1 TBSP Dry yeast
  • ¼ CUP Granulated white sugar
  • 2 ¼ CUPS All purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • ½ TSP Salt
  • 3 U 3 eggs (1 for the egg wash)
  • 1 TBSP Water
  • 1 TSP Vanilla extract
  • 1 TBSP Orange zest
  • ½ TSP Ground cardamom
  • 2 OZ Butter, cubed and softened
  • ½ CUP Pistachios, chopped
  • ½ CUP Honey

Steps

  1. Use a sharp knife to slice away both ends of the oranges, then remove all the peel from top to bottom.
  2. Cut the pulp of the oranges into cubes and the peel in julienne strips.
