Piggy Steamed Buns with Char Siu Pork

Ingredients
Char Siu Pork
- 1/2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons honey
- 1 1/2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
- 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon five-spice powder
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons oil
- 1 pound pork shoulder
Piggy Steamed Buns
- 2 1/2 cups plus 2 tablespoons flour
- 3/4 teaspoon instant yeast
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 3 tablespoons caster sugar
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- Black sesame seeds
Steps
- For the char siu pork: In a medium bowl, whisk marinade ingredients until well combined. Add the pork shoulder, and toss to make sure the pork is evenly coated.
- Cover, refrigerate and let marinate for at least 3 hours.
