Rainbow Cake

Ingredients

Rainbow Cake

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 6 large egg whites
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup + 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Buttercream

  • 2 cups unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 cups confectioner's sugar
  • Pink, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple food coloring

Steps

  1. Combine the flour and cornstarch in a small bowl.
  2. Beat the egg yolks, vanilla extract and 3/4 cup sugar with an electric mixer on high speed until thick and pale. Set aside.
