Salted Almond Toffee
‘Tis the jolly season of giving, but this year, there will be no more struggles in making your list and checking it twice. Frankie’s festive, budget-friendly treats are the sweetest way to tell your friends and family you love them.
- 1 ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup butter, cut into pieces
- 1 ½ cup chopped almonds
- 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 ½ teaspoon salt
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Add the butter, both sugars and 6 tablespoons of water to a small saucepan. Cook over medium low heat while stirring, until the sugar is dissolved. Turn up the heat to medium and cook the mixture at a rapid simmer for 10 minutes without stirring. It is ready when it becomes a dark amber color.
