Slow Cooker Pot Roast

When you're craving the tastiest, most tender pot roast, look no further than your slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 4-5 pounds chuck roast
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 2 whole onions
  • 8 carrots
  • 4 celery ribs
  • 3 potatoes
  • 2 cups beef stock
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 3 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 3 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 2 bay leaves

Steps

  1. Rub oil, salt and pepper all over the chuck roast.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the roast on all sides. Set aside.
