Steak and Pan Sauce with Asparagus

Home chefs can skip the restaurant and flex their steak skills at home with this simple recipe that utilizes the bold flavors of Holland House® Red Wine Vinegar in both the steak sauce and a spicy asparagus side dish.


  • 1 - 1.5lb Boneless Ribeye Steak
  • Kosher Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Canola, Grapeseed, or Vegetable oil
  • 4 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Shallot
  • 4 Tbsp Unsalted Butter
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • Thyme Leaves
  • 2 tbsp Holland House ® Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1⁄2 cup Beef Stock
  • 2 tbsp Grated Parmesan
  • 1 bundle Asparagus
  • Chili Flakes to taste
  • Olive oil


  1. Season the steak generously with salt and pepper and let it sit at room temperature while preparing the rest of the ingredients.
  2. Finely Dice Shallots and Garlic and set aside. Prepare asparagus by cutting off the bottoms.
