Sweet Potato Pecan Cinnamon Rolls With Bourbon Glaze
Cinnamon rolls are great. But cinnamon rolls with sweet potato, pecans and a bourbon glaze are better.
Ingredients
Sweet Potato Pecan Cinnamon Rolls
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2/3 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup sweet potato purée
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated orange zest
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoon) active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
Filling
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 cup sweet potato purée (from roasted sweet potato)
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Bourbon Glaze
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Steps
- In a saucepan, melt the butter. Remove from heat and add milk to warm.
- Transfer to a mixing bowl with a paddle hook attachment. On low speed, beat in sweet potato purée and orange zest.
