Sweet Potato Pecan Cinnamon Rolls With Bourbon Glaze

Cinnamon rolls are great. But cinnamon rolls with sweet potato, pecans and a bourbon glaze are better.

Ingredients

Sweet Potato Pecan Cinnamon Rolls

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sweet potato purée
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated orange zest
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoon) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted

Filling

  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup sweet potato purée (from roasted sweet potato)
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Bourbon Glaze

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter. Remove from heat and add milk to warm.
  2. Transfer to a mixing bowl with a paddle hook attachment. On low speed, beat in sweet potato purée and orange zest.
