Wood Fired Style Pizza

On this special delivery episode of Struggle Meals, Frankie explores three ways to make delicious pizzas, and shares clever tips to make an A+ pie without dropping your dough on expensive ingredients.


  • ⅔ cup warm water
  • 1 ½ teaspoons yeast
  • 1 sugar packet (1 teaspoon)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¾ cups all purpose flour
  • 1 (14 ounce) can whole tomatoes
  • 1 red pepper flake packet (¼ teaspoon)
  • 4 ounces fresh mozzarella, torn into small chunks
  • 8 basil leaves


  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the warm water, yeast and sugar and let sit for 5 minutes until it begins to bubble and show life.
  2. Add the flour, 2 tablespoons of olive oil and salt to the bowl and stir with a wooden spoon until the dough begins to come together. Turn onto a floured work surface and knead for 5-8 minutes until the dough feels soft.The dough is ready when you poke it with your finger and the dough bounces back slowly.
