Robert Castañeda or Chef Bean as he is locally known, began his culinary journey when his dad put young Robert behind the grill during a hard-pressed rush at their SoCal kitchen. There an insatiable passion and family legacy was born. Since then, he has thrived in the downtown Los Angeles area working throughout the kitchen mastering every discipline for many coveted dining rooms including Soho House, Gorbal’s, Rocket Pizza, Fifty Seven, Pruf Rock at the Regent Theater, Cucina Rustica, and many restaurants in Palm Springs, California. Chef Bean aims to surprise his guests with unique experiences. That focus grew an inspiration and creation of his edgy pop-up restaurant Living Breathing Kitchen. Not only does Chef Bean serve up cuisine no less unique than downtown itself, but he blends his cuisine with variety show pleasures.
