Your New Favorite One-Pot Dish: Jollof Rice with Chef Simileoluwa Adebajo of Eko Kitchen (Livestream Benefit for SF New Deal)
LivestreamSan Francisco, CA
Jollof Rice is a one-pot smoky dish infused with peppers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, chilies, and a signature seven-spice blend. This famous West African dish pairs perfectly with Nigerian-style chicken that’s boiled, grilled, and simmered in a tasty pepper sauce with onion rings. You'll also learn how to top it all off with fried plantains that beautifully offset the spicy, smoky flavors of this dish. All guests must supply their own ingredients. Full ingredient list will be provided upon purchase of ticket. --- Simi is the 24-year-old Head Chef and Owner of Eko Kitchen, San Francisco's first and only Nigerian restaurant and catering company. Her goal is to share Nigerian food with the world, and she seeks to "stay as close to home as possible," developing recipes she learned from her mother as well as her two grandmothers. --- The Memorial Day Weekend "Chefstival" brings together over a dozen of the Bay Area's top chefs to host one-of-a-kind interactive cooking classes through ChefsFeed Experiences. Half of all ticket proceeds go directly to the host chefs and their staff, the other half goes to the nonprofit SF New Deal. SF New Deal is a nonprofit that partners with small businesses and community organizations to provide income for workers and meals for neighbors in need. They directly fund restaurants, keeping businesses open, workers employed, and vulnerable people fed.
