Raw Talent! Master the Art of Oysters, Crudo, and Tartare with Chef Telmo Faria of Uma Casa (Livestream Benefit for SF New Deal)
San Francisco, CA
Join Uma Casa head chef Telmo Faria (and his wife, Jessi!) for an exploration of raw foods that will turn even the most trepid home cook into America's next great shucker. From oysters, to tartare, to crudo, Telmo’s signature bold flavors and bolder style will have you tossing out the frying pan in favor of fresh raw ingredients. All guests must supply their own ingredients. Full ingredient list will be provided upon purchase of ticket. --- Chef Telmo's first restaurant experience came when his father opened "Adega Santa" in the Azores. It was there that his love of cooking and hospitality was forged. With his “Top Five New Restaurants” Uma Casa, his goal is to use the inspiration of his childhood and heritage to bring the flavors of Portugal to the Bay Area, all while using the sensibilities and sourcing practices that have become synonymous with San Francisco dining. --- The Memorial Day Weekend "Chefstival" brings together over a dozen of the Bay Area's top chefs to host one-of-a-kind interactive cooking classes through ChefsFeed Experiences. Half of all ticket proceeds go directly to the host chefs and their staff, the other half goes to the nonprofit SF New Deal. SF New Deal is a nonprofit that partners with small businesses and community organizations to provide income for workers and meals for neighbors in need. They directly fund restaurants, keeping businesses open, workers employed, and vulnerable people fed.
